John Moser

Professor, Institute of American Civics

John Moser is a professor at the Institute of American Civics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, after previously serving as professor of history and chair of the Department of History and Political Science at Ashland University. He earned bachelor’s degrees in history and telecommunications from Ohio University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He is the author of several books on U.S. history, most recently The Great Depression and the New Deal: A Concise History. Moser is also a regular guest on History Channel documentaries, including History’s Greatest Mysteries with Laurence Fishburne and Mysteries Unearthed with Danny Trejo.
