Public Square Series: “Why Vote?” Panel Discussion with Local Leaders
Public Square Series: “Why Vote?” Panel Discussion with Local Leaders
September 21, 2022 | 5:00pm | Toyota Auditorium
In his 1980 book, No Margin for Error, Senator Baker wrote, “I think I understand in my bones the reason the indifferents stay at home. They don’t think they count. They don’t believe who they vote for, what party they vote for, will mean a solitary thing to them in their individual lives. Let’s do something about it.”
For this panel discussion with local leaders, Bill Lyons, Director of Policy Partnership for the Baker Center as well as an expert in American politics and voting behavior, will tackle this challenge and attempt to get answers to the question: Why Vote?
Knox County Election Commissioner Hannah Hopper, Vice Mayor Andrew Roberto and City Councilwoman Lynn Fugate will be panelists.
